CHOOSEICORN: A Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Unicorn Game!

You choose to stay with the Darkness...

You stay with the Darkness, feeling more and more dead tendrils creep up to attach themselves to you. It's creepy, but you find yourself growing to not mind it as much.

"I'm glad you stayed," the voice says, whispering softly. The voice seems to be coming from everywhere, swirling around you like a mist. It's strange, but you find yourself growing to not mind it as much.

"What exactly am I staying for?" You ask, summoning your strength. Still, your voice cracks, and you want to shrink back into a shadow. However, the entire place is made of shadows. The voice laughs, as if it can see right into your thoughts.

"Allow me to ask a question, first," the voice says, and you nod. The voice has a certain quality to it, one that you can't really describe. You want to listen to what it has to say. You want to obey what it has to say. "Aren't you tired of it?"

"Tired of what?" You ask, even though there are so many things you are tired of. The list could go on forever.

"Of other people." Of all the things you were expecting the voice to say, that was not one of them. It's true though. You're tired of the looks, of the fear. You're tired of people looking at you like some sort of demon, and you're tired of

"them screaming," the voice finished your thoughts, and you realize that the voice has been speaking with your thoughts the entire time. It's unnatural, but you find yourself growing to not mind it as much.

It's like you two are of one mind. You complain to it for the next hour, about how much you hate everything and everyone, and how other people are awful and you just want everything to stop. You want freedom, and you can find it here.

Finally, the conversation lulls, and the voice seizes on that silence.

"Now, don't you want to do something about it?" It asks, and you cock your head to the side, confused.

"Of course," you find yourself saying at the same time as the voice. "But what can I do?"

"That's the wrong question," the voice says. "The right question is what can WE do? And the answer to that is why you are still here. It's because I need your help. I need someone who can get on the inside, to give me the information that I need."

"What exactly do you need me to do?" You ask suspiciously. The voice has been whittling down your defenses, but it takes more than an hour to break down walls you've had up for years.

"I need you to infiltrate society. We need to get up to the higher ranks." Instantly, your mind takes you back to the two unicorns you saw earlier. One of them, you believe, was the Prince. "And once we do that, we can change things."

"How?" You ask.

"It's simple, once we have the power. As soon as that happens, which you can help me to get, we'll start a reform on the entire world. There are so many out there that are like you, Ash. Unicorns rejected by society. Once we take over, we'll be able to change all of that. We'll instill a new government, and kill everyone who ever dared to laugh at you."

You realize that the dead tendrils have completely covered your body, wrapped around everything but your head. You can't move even if you wanted to, and you're not sure you want to.

"Well, what do you say? You in?" The voice asks, right next to your ear. You consider the plan.

It's pure evil, but you find yourself growing not to mind it as much.
