CHOOSEICORN: A Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Unicorn Game!

You go with him.

You decide to go with Jim. After all, he's a unicorn too, and you can always afford to show a little compassion. You'll be there for him, even when he finds his father's lifeless body.

You hightail it to the castle, and there you find Jim's uncle, Uncle Smarmy the Third. You immediately don't trust him, especially when he guilt trips Jim about not being there. You find it all very dramatic, and see that it has reduced the spoiled prince into a sobbing mess on the floor.

"We, we were too late," he cries, getting snot and tears all over Uncle Smarmy's robes. He regards the young prince with extreme distaste, and sort of pushes him away.

"Now, now, young prince," he says, his expression morphing into one of suspicious concern. You don't trust him. "Why don't you take this young filly back to her village? I'm sure she has things she needs to get back to."

"Yeah," you interject, annoyed. You're not a 'young filly.' You're a mare. Mature. Old. "I think it's best that we leave. I don't remember how to get back to my village." You pretend to be stupid, and Uncle Smarmy raises an eyebrow, but he buys it.

Bristling with indignation, you go back to where Jim is slowly getting up on four legs. He sniffles, then looks between you and Uncle Smarmy.

"Uncle!" He cries. "You have always helped me in my times of need! Please, I don't know what I'm supposed to do!"

Uncle Smarmy glares down at him, then his face lights up with an evil grin. "My guards will take the filly home." (You glare.) "Now, come with me for a walk in the gardens. That'll be just the thing to help clear your mind."

You look from the obviously evil Uncle Smarmy to the young, innocent, idiotic prince. If the prince dies, you realize, then Uncle Smarmy will rule the kingdom. And you can literally think of nothing worse than that.

"No, I would feel more comfortable with the prince leading me. Come, Prince Jim," you said, nudging the prince, who has managed to not be sobbing for a minute. He nods slowly, turning to follow you, while Uncle Smarmy seethes in the backgroun.

"Well, fine then," Uncle Smarmy says, raising his voice. "I guess we'll just have two bodies to get rid of. Guards!"

"RUN!" You shout, nudging Jim into action. You both run, through the castle, just barely dodging the guards that Uncle Smarmy has sent after you. You hear him shouting behind you, and you run faster and faster.

Run, run, run. You're never going to make it! You see a figure at the edge of the forest, a dark unicorn covered in a sheet. The mysterious Ghost! You run towards them, not sure what else to do. It's better than being with Uncle Smarmy, anyway.

Then, something unexpected happens. You see an orange burst of magma come from the Ghost's horn, shooting over you and hitting the guards chasing you. You're not sure what just happened, but you don't really care. The Ghost saved you, so you run towards them, Jim hot on your hooves.

There's only one thing that you can do.
GO WITH THEM.
