You let the missing healer go, for there is no saying where she ended up. You and the messenger race back home to the palace. With some difficulty, you make it up the many stairs to your father's room. (Why did a load of unicorns decide they needed stairs? Who knows. All you can say is that they are a nightmare to climb for an animal with four legs and cloppity little hooves)

Your father is lying in his horse-bed, his glorious eyebrows fluttering tragically. You fall to his side, crying (you did not know that horses could cry, but your people are UNICORNS, and you are royalty, too, so you are above such logic).

"My dear son," your father says. His voice is hoarse (lol). "Don't trust... THE TRAITOR..." And with that, your father expires with a final "LOL BYE".

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" you wail horsily. Attendents rush to your side, along with Uncle Smarmy himself. Smarmy has glowing red eyes. He is a very regal, not-at-all evil horse with a pair of charmingly deadly canine teeth. You would trust him with your life.

"Dear nephew," he says. "Why don't you... go for a walk, hmm? I'll take care of everything here."

You love your uncle with all of your heart and trust him utterly, but something about all of this feels off...
